Made in Italy tour

food.jpg

In order to get to know Bologna, we will start from the beautiful Italian-gothic San Francesco Church and the Glossator tombs.
From there, we will head to the Beautiful Maggiore square with its arched colonnades where we can enter the San Petronio Basilica, dedicated to the patron saint of Bologna.
I will show you the majestic Paviglione portico leading to the Archiginasio, where there was once a silk-worm market, and Neptune fountain, in Neptune Square.
I will explain why the city is called 'The red', the fact and the learned, and show you the symbol of the city the two leaning Towers, Asinelli and Garisenda.

Itinerary

San Francesco Church and the Glossator tombs
Piazza Maggiore
San Petronio
Archiginasium. We can visit the anatomical theatre here if it is open
Santo Stefano Church
San Domenico Church, if we have time

During this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the traditional shops in the Jewish Ghetto and in the "Quadrilatero".
You can choose to visit one or more museums, depending on your preference: Davia Bargellini museum, International music museum or Industrial Heritage Museum.

If you want to learn how to prepare pasta, you can have an optional local pasta-making session that can be arranged and will cost 100 Euros per person.
Alternatively, I can accompany you to FICO, Eataly, where food workshops cost from 15 Euros for an hour if you do it with the public or 50 Euros if you book it for small groups.

*Please, note that if you choose to go to FICO, I will take you there but I can only explain their philosophy, how Parmigiano Reggiano, Traditional Balsamic vinegar and other products are made, outside the place, because they have official guides. Then, I will leave you to join the lesson and if you want, I can suggest you how to get back to the city centre by bus
